ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

I live and work on the unceeded lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung country in the Macedon Ranges. I want to pay my respects to the traditional owners of this beautiful land, past, present and emerging. I pay my respects with monthly donations to Pay the Rent. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

ADVOCATING FOR DIVERSITY & ANTI-RACISM

I am a Eurasian Australian woman with a mixed racial and cultural background from a history of migration. I am grateful to my parents and my ancestors for the privileged life that I am able to live and lead. From this position I advocate for diversity, equity and anti-racism. As a mother I want to contribute to a future that is filled with opportunities for my daughter. I want her to feel safe and able to lead a life that enables her to be who she wants to be. I want to inspire people to include, share and respect the vast backgrounds and lives that we all have - across race, religion, class and gender.

SUSTAINABLY CONSCIOUS

One of the big challenges that our globe faces is climate change. There is no easy solution, but a consistent need to shift the way we live, use and contribute to the planet. We first need to acknowledge that we are in a climate crisis. Part of my shift to be more sustainably conscious is to make sure I keep my power consumption to a minimum, live by the old (and still very applicable) slogan ‘reuse, reduce, recycle’, invest in quality long wearing and durable equipment, choose sustainable printing and framing materials, support local, and offset my carbon emissions through Greenfleet Australia.

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY

Supporting the people around me is important. Currently and throughout my career there are a number of individuals, communities and organisations that I give my time, photography skills, marketing and communications experience for free. While some of these are short term projects, others are longer relationships or positions on not-for-profit boards. I also support like-minded individuals, arts organisations and businesses with flexible fee arrangements and in-kind support. Each year I donate part of my profits to a range of charitable organisations, as another way to support my community.
