China is a fascinating place I keep returning to. Large scale development, small living quarters and a private life that is shared by everyone on the street. Middle Kingdom is a series trying to understand the nature of Shanghai’s constant shifting between the old and the new – stuck in a persistent flux of being ‘in-between’.
