Looking for Maisie documents a heritage-listed scientific site in Pretty Valley on the Bogong High Plains, Victoria. Established in 1946 by pioneering scientist Stella Grace Maisie Fawcett (later Mrs Maisie Carr), this research plot monitored grassland regeneration and soil erosion, fundamentally transforming agricultural practices across Australia's High Country. Her scientific work was particularly significant given the rarity of women conducting such research during the mid-twentieth century.

The series uses site-responsive photo methodologies to examine the evolving landscape of both the grassland plots and the historical narratives surrounding women's roles in scientific research, illuminating experiences of identity and belonging within Australia's settler colonial context.
